Opening nationwide in theaters on Friday, March 4th, LONDON HAS FALLEN offers edge of your seat action, great storytelling and lots of moments to feel proud to be an American.

Please Note: I was invited as media to the movie screening for review purpose. Any views expressed are always 100% my own.

My Review

While the basic story line of protecting American (and her partner countries) isn't something new, LONDON HAS FALLEN does a great job of making the focus the action of how this done. The conspiracy! The explosions!

Gerard Butler is Mike Banning, a Secret Service agent who's hardcore in protecting his President and making sure those terrorist know he means business. Along the way he has the energy to trade a few jokes with Aaron Eckhart as President Benjamin Asher, which makes for some nice humor to pace all the running and killing.

While there's lots of violent and sometimes over the top moments, it fits the tone of this fast pace movie where the President is in a race against time to find a safe way out of England and back home.

While I enjoyed watching Gerard Butler kick but, I have to mention the acting of Angela Bassett as Lynne, who brings some tender moments to the movie and to Mike's character.

Check out Angela’s character Lynne gives Mike some parenting advice in “NESTING”

I really wish we saw more of the interaction between them. I also wish the Lynne character was a bit more like Mike, switching into a action to kick some butt while protecting the president. She's the Director of Secret Service! There was a real miss opportunity there to show a strong female in this film.

While these are some of the key points that makes LONDON HAS FALLEN a must see film if your into action, I do have to mention the strong patriotic theme. There's lots of "America" against "them" feel throughout the film, especially at the ending. So be prepared for that.

The sequel to the worldwide smash hit “Olympus Has Fallen,” a non-stop, suspenseful action thriller that delivers high-octane excitement through a heightened sense of authenticity.

The visceral intensity springs from a timely premise: after the British Prime Minister passes away, his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future.

The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service agent (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also stars as the Vice President of the United States.
