Recently Nokia had a press conference here in New York City, where they announced the first devices in the company’s Windows Phone 8 range – the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820.

  • The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, including the latest advances in Nokia PureView imaging innovation. Using advanced floating lens technology, the camera in the Nokia Lumia 920 is able to take in five times more light than competing smartphones without using flash, making it possible to capture clear, bright pictures and video indoors and at night. It also compensates for hand movement while the photo is being taken. The Nokia Lumia 920 is also the first smartphone with built-in wireless charging.

  • The Nokia Lumia 820 is a stylish, mid-range smartphone that delivers high-end performance in a compact package. The Nokia Lumia 820 has the same unibody look and feel as the high end Lumia smartphones, and comes with an exchangeable shell design that offers wireless charging capabilities and is available in a range of colors.
Both devices are the first smartphones in the world to use a new advanced multi-touch experience based on the Synaptics ClearPad capacitive touchscreen sensing technology.

Nokia also announced a broad range of new, innovative apps for Nokia Lumia smartphones, including Angry Birds Roost and The World of Red Bull app – which are exclusive to Nokia Lumia smartphones for 9 months and three months respectively.
